Hello and welcome to my blog.
The purpose of this blog is to organize my thoughts on my (current) topic, which is how to improve the building envelope for a simple single family home (located on 1752 Davies Rd. Notch Hill, BC), by adding extra insulation to the outside walls and estimating energy usage for the existing forced air heating system with and without the improvements. I will also compare the existing building envelope to a Double Stud wall and ICF type wall system. The ultimate goal is to compare data collected from heat loss calculations, air changes per hour, and manufacturer’s data. I will share everything I find on the subject, and will try to update regularly. Enjoy
